1. How do I apply for a Habitat home?
Applicants must attend a mandatory information meeting. The family must have need, the ability to pay, and the willingness to partner. You must live/work in the county you are applying (Floyd, Polk, Chattooga) for at least 1 year.
2. Where does Habitat for Humanity-Coosa Valley build homes?
We serve families in Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga counties.
3. Does Habitat give homes away?
Habitat is a hand up, not a hand out for families who qualify for our programs. All of our homeowners pay a zero-interest mortgage.
4. Does Habitat accept court ordered community service workers?
Yes, as long as it is not a violent or theft offense. Please bring your community service order form provided by your probation officer and a photo ID. To sign up stop by the Habitat ReStore at 95 Three Rivers Drive, Tuesday through Saturday between 10- 6 pm to get signed up.

6. What is A Brush With Kindness and how do I apply?
A Brush with Kindness is an exterior home painting program that is open to homeowners in Floyd, Polk, and Chatooga counties. This is for homeowners who need help with the exterior maintenance of their home. Homeowners pay Habitat for the supplies used on their home over an agreed upon time length not exceed two years. To apply stop by the office to fill out application, bring photo IDs, and $10 for each person 18 & over in the household for a background check. To qualify there homeowner must live in the home (no rental property), there has to be a need, you must have the ability to pay, and be willing to partner.
7. How often does Habitat build homes?
We are currently building 2 to 3 homes per year.
8. What is the average size of a Habitat home?
The size of a Habitat home depends on the family. On average the homes are 3 bedroom and 2 bathrooms.
