Habitat for Humanity-Coosa Valley was founded in 1984. While working in partnership with and on behalf of Habitat for Humanity International, we operate autonomously, choosing our own families, raising our own support, and building our own houses. As of July 2013, we have built 51 homes in Rome, Polk, and Chattooga County. Our hope is to eventually build 6 to 8 homes annually. We also have the A Brush With Kindness program, which is an exterior home painting program designed for homeowners who need minor exterior home painting or repair. Through these ministries we are working to ensure that the citizens of the three service counties have safe, decent, and affordable housing.
